The Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids
A modern druid order founded in 1964, whose liturgy traces to eighteenth-century literary invention rather than to any Iron Age druidic source.
What it meansIts ritual material descends from Iolo Morganwg's Barddas, a text later shown by a Welsh scholar to be Morganwg's own eighteenth-century forgery rather than an ancient survival — a foundation the order's own later leadership has openly acknowledged.

Who they wereOnly about a dozen of the poems attributed to him are considered possibly authentic to a historical sixth-century poet; the rest, including his famous magical origin story involving a witch's cauldron and a shape-shifting chase, come from a much later sixteenth-century retelling, not from the early poems themselves.
