Merlin (originating in Welsh tradition as Myrddin Wyllt or Merlinus Caledonensis) is the supreme wizard of the Arthurian mythos. Conceived as the son of a mortal woman and an otherworldly incubus, Merlin transcended demonic influence through baptism and prophetic wisdom. Following the trauma of battle, he retreated into the wild forest of Celyddon, gaining the language of beasts and birds. He orchestrated the birth of Arthur, engineered the Round Table, and bound the kingdom’s destiny to cosmic harmony.
