Hopi Prophecy
Published 'Hopi prophecy' comes largely from the Traditionalist movement, whose spokesmen, among them Thomas Banyacya, were named in 1948 to carry the prophecies to the public; Frank Waters's 1963 Book of the Hopi later spread them widely. Other Hopi, including the Tribal Council, contested the Traditionalists' authority, and the prophecies have been continually reinterpreted.
