Pamela Colman Smith
For most of the twentieth century the deck was marketed simply as 'Rider-Waite', crediting the publisher and the writer but not her. She died in 1951 with no royalties from the deck and no marked grave — the actual author of every card image this catalogue's tarot entries describe.
