Kuntillet Ajrud

The inscription is genuine and excavated, not disputed. What 'his asherah' actually names — a goddess consort, or simply a wooden cult object — remains unresolved among scholars, and the popular claim that it proves 'God had a wife' overstates what the two jars can actually support.
