Chögyam Trungpa

His teaching institutions are the documented route by which the Tibetan word Shambhala became a Western spiritual brand. His own record includes documented alcohol abuse and sexual misconduct, and in 1989 it was revealed that his chosen successor had known for years he was HIV-positive while continuing unprotected sex with students without telling them.
