The shadow of addiction, unhealthy attachments, and illusions of entrapment where the chains are actually self-imposed.
The Devil card highlights our self-imposed limitations and the illusions of bondage. It signifies our entanglement in material desires, toxic patterns, or unhealthy dependencies that restrict our spiritual freedom. The chains worn by the figures are loose, indicating that captivity is a choice and liberation is entirely possible through awareness. This card demands that we confront our deepest shadows, acknowledge our base desires without shame, and break free from the self-deceptions that bind us to lower states of consciousness.
