The Tetractys of the Decad is a powerful mystical symbol of the Pythagorean tradition, consisting of ten points arranged in an equilateral triangle. The rows represent the fundamental dimensions: the monad (1 - a point), the dyad (2 - a line), the triad (3 - a surface), and the tetrad (4 - a solid). Summing to ten, it represents universal perfection, the musical harmonies that structure creation, and the divine blueprint of reality. For Pythagoreans, it was a symbol of such supreme sacredness that oaths were sworn upon it.
