Squaring the circle is a classical geometric problem: constructing a square with the same area as a given circle using only a finite number of steps with a compass and straightedge. Proved impossible in the 19th century due to the transcendental nature of pi, it remains a profound alchemical metaphor. The circle represents the infinite, eternal, and divine, while the square represents the finite, earthly, and material.
