Platonic Solids

The Elements of Geometry

Five shapes mapped onto the elements: the claim that reality is built on a small, perfect geometry.

The Platonic Solids are five 3D geometric shapes where each face is the same regular polygon and the same number of polygons meet at each vertex: the Tetrahedron (fire), Hexahedron or Cube (earth), Octahedron (air), Icosahedron (water), and Dodecahedron (aether or the universe). Discovered by ancient mathematicians and deeply philosophized by Plato, these solids were seen as the perfect, harmonious structural components of reality. They represent the underlying mathematical logic and divine proportion embedded within the chaos of the material world.

Light

Embodies structural integrity, the foundational elements of existence, universal harmony, and the profound beauty of mathematical truth.

Shadow

Rigid adherence to these models can represent a dogmatic view of reality, ignoring the organic, asymmetrical nuances of the natural world.
