Fire High in Heaven
Great holdings are kept by modesty, and carry a duty: curb what is bad, further what is good.
Great Possession sets the clinging fire of Li above the creative heaven of Qian, so that the light is high in the sky and shines over everything beneath it. The single yielding line stands in the fifth place, the ruler's seat, and the five firm lines defer to it of their own accord; holdings on this scale are kept by modesty rather than by grasping, which is why the Judgement grants supreme success. The Image attaches a duty to the abundance, the superior man curbing what is bad and furthering what is good, and in doing so according with the benevolent will of heaven.
Light
Signifies abundance, wealth and standing, clear sight over one's whole situation, generosity, and the devotion given freely to a modest holder of great means.
Shadow
Can represent arrogance and hoarding, the envy that great possession attracts, and wealth held without the discrimination to separate what is worth keeping from what is not.
