The secret lineage claimed for the system, through a master named Sant Hazara Singh, has never been documented; historical research traces its early practices instead to the hatha yoga of Swami Dhirendra Brahmachari. An independent 2020 investigation found it more likely than not that the founder sexually abused followers.
