The Shekhinah

The word never actually appears anywhere in the Hebrew Bible. It began as a grammatical device in later translations, stayed impersonal in early rabbinic use, and was only made feminine in specific medieval Kabbalistic texts — a documented birth of a divine feminine figure, not an ancient inheritance.
