Phowa and the Bardo
The famous English title 'Tibetan Book of the Dead', along with much of its now-standard vocabulary of spiritual 'planes', was supplied by the text's English editor in 1927 and framed through his own theosophical interests — additions layered onto the fourteenth-century Tibetan source rather than translations of it.
