Lucid Dreaming

Though often equated directly with an ancient Tibetan Buddhist dream-yoga practice, the modern term was coined by a Dutch psychiatrist in 1913, and the technique was not laboratory-verified until the 1970s, when a researcher captured a deliberate eye-movement signal sent from within an actual dream — a specific, dated moment when the phenomenon moved from claim to demonstrated fact.
