Helena Petrovna Blavatsky

Her claimed Tibetan training in the 1850s and 1860s has no independent witness of any kind. Richard Hodgson's 1885 report for the Society for Psychical Research judged her phenomena fraudulent, a verdict later disputed; separately, William Emmette Coleman's 1895 analysis found some two thousand passages in Isis Unveiled copied from other books without credit.
