The Chakra Rainbow

The rainbow sequence is modern but predates 1977: colour healers of the 1930s already set the chakras in spectrum order. What first appeared in 1977 was that sequence joined to the now-familiar list of psychological qualities. A sixteenth-century Sanskrit source gives different colours, and a 1927 theosophical account describes multicoloured centres, not a rainbow.
